Yesterday we obtain a marriage license and we will get married on October 2 (tomorrow) at 3:30 at the Courthouse lawn (2145 Main St, Wailuku, HI 96793).

For the ones on island, you are welcome to meet us there or at our friend Sunny Savage which is been so kind to host a very small (12 max) informal gathering with pupus (hawaiian for appetizers) and drinks on her deck overlooking Ieo valley.

WARNING

This is a very informal celebration, no fancy dresses, no groom and bride speech, no special filter, posed pictures with the bride and groom or bride bouquet, come as you are and enjoy the day.

For the ones avoiding gathering due to COVID please let me know and don’t worry. We will have more opportunity to be together and enjoy each other company in the future.

Sunny’s house is in Wailuku a few blocks from the courthouse at 149 Uhiwai Place – Uhiwai Is a dead end road, but your Lopaka right at the end and it’s the mint green house tucked in the corner. Parking is very limited and is best on Vineyard Street.

No Need to bring gift but, if you wish to bring gifts or send a gift to celebrate our informal union, we ask you to support our native habitat restoration project and the birth of our little agroforestry project.

Before buying our house, I sat on the land and ask if it would allow me be its caretaker. I promise it to restore its soil, plant as much native plant and beneficial plants as I could. I promise to protect it and respect it.

Today we planted about 180 native plants. As our A’ali’I (the forest builder) are breaking up the soil, balancing nutrients and nitrogen, turning the clay to fertile grounds, we are looking to diversify and expand our ecosystem with more trees, more plants and more love.

Restoring the land and grow a native ecosystem the takes work, time and efforts so for our wedding gift we ask you to support us in this effort in the hope this garden can became gathering place for us all, full of life, hope creativity, food and love.
Plus, this will be a unique opportunity to buy a truck load of manure as a wedding gift. Think about that!

The plant will be purchased from local nurseries helping local economy.
The hours of labor will be used to hire local people in need.
We will all enjoy the fruits and trees of our love and labor.
