Drawing after the Arctic Circle + pinholes

“Occupy North,” conceived during “The Arctic Circle” art residency in October 2015, is a bold artistic initiative responding to the political tensions surrounding Arctic territorial claims. In two transformative phases, the project challenges traditional notions of nationhood and territory.

The symbolic act of planting a flag physically stakes a claim in
the Arctic, challenging geopolitical norms. This performative gesture is complemented by a strategic legal pursuit through the United Nations and the Norwegian government, thrusting the project beyond art into international governance.

Documented through photography, video, and visual artifacts, the legacy of “Occupy North” “Occupy North” aims
to reshape narratives, question power structures, and prompt
conversations about the environmental impact of political decisions.

After my the Arctic Circle expedition I face hours of video, sound and photo editing.

Before that however I had to liberate my mind form Nicole and Zia Giulia death a long with a number of unpleasant events.

This is firs drawing out of it all and out of the arctic . The black and withe (so unusual for me)  is inspired by the Arctic landscape . Here I learn a new perception of color, dimension , sound and prospective.

Addition here are some pinhole camera I did as a side kick doing the trip.

Coming back to Italy was traumatic for me to the extent of feeling the need to protect my arctic magic form it all.

I wanted all the work to savor and mature inside of me so that I could be ready to enjoin it over again with the development of time.

Now on my way back to Maui I’m regaining  studio privacy
